Jonathan Vail La Rocca of North Salem New York recently won a grant from The Rice Design Alliance in Houston, Texas. The grant will allow Jonathan to further develop the work of his completed thesis with a specific application: “Grow Local – Plotting a New Urban-Rural Interface in Houston”.
Last year Jonathan won the Rice University School of Architecture Studio Prize, which enabled him to travel to Australia for thesis research. Jonathan also received the Westchester-Mid-Hudson American Institute of Architects scholarship and will display his thesis at the annual chapter event on June 25, 2007.
Mr. La Rocca will graduate from Rice University on May 12 with a Master of Architecture degree. Jonathan received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and is currently working in Houston on various national and international projects.
